When I first received the Mini Monitors ahead of the other pieces, I dropped them into my system as a stereo pair and was floored. This is Paradigm's entry level 6-incher'!' Then the rest of the set arrived and things really started cooking... The Mini Monitors are an instant classic, the Center 1 is so very hifi that I wonder what three would be like as an L/C/R set, and the Surround 1 continues the legacy of delivering the best surround sound field you can put ...

A 'FIRST LOOK' AT THE PARADIGM SERIES 7 MINI MONITOR SPEAKERS

Initial listening impressions across the board are very favorable. I set them up for stereo playback, and within a couple tracks, I noted bass so deep, that I had to make sure I had disabled my subwoofer! We can only surmise what the towers have in store for us. Imaging was highly localized, and the midrange was devoid of harmonics that would have otherwise turned it to mush. The highs were pinpoint sharp and detailed. The fit and finish were top-notch Paradigm with no splitting seams, exposed screws, or peeling veneers. In fact, after being so impressed with their sound I was surprised when I examined them more closely to find the Rosenut wood finish to be vinyl. ...the Monitors were immensely satisfying on both music and movies. I never felt the need to rush through a listening session. In fact, on both movies and music, each session often lasted far longer than I had planned. If you're shopping in this price range, or even twice that, you need to audition the Monitor Series 7.

If the latest Mini Monitor is anything to go by, Paradigm's gen-seven redesign of the Monitor Series is an unqualified success. These speakers are voiced to mate gently with less expensive electronics but still have enough power handling to suit aggressive movie soundtracks and rock 'n' roll... In general, these speakers would be great all-around performers at any price. At their asking price, they're a superb value.
