State-of-the-Art Design ... and Beyond! Although servo control is not new, the Paradigm Reference Servo-15’s state-of-the-art design moves beyond the traditional use of servo to merely reduce distortion. It’s one thing to have a servo system, it’s quite another to have a servo system that plays loud! This requires far greater design sophistication. From the beginning, Paradigm’s Servo-15 challenged (and changed!) all the rules. It is accurate to an astonishing 12 Hz! In a typical listening room it can reproduce a visceral 120 dB without audible distortion. Even more important is the absolute accuracy of its deep bass. Its ability to retrieve fine bass detail and follow bass lines so precisely is simply extraordinary. Paradigm Reference Servo-15 not only plumbs the depths, it does so with a shocking sense of realism! Patented State-of-the-Art Closed-Loop Servo System When a bass note is reproduced the Servo-15’s accelerometer instantly reads the motion and position of the driver’s cone. The signal is then relayed to a circuit that compares it to the original input signal. Discrepancies are used to create a correction signal that modifies the amplifier’s output, which in turn corrects the driver’s output. The driver then starts and stops precisely in tandem with the input signal—audible distortion is eliminated! Since electrical current moves at the speed of light, all of this occurs instantaneously and transparently. Control Facilities: • Auto On/Off • Trigger On/Off • Subwoofer Level • Subwoofer Cut-Off Frequency (continuously variable 35 Hz – 150 Hz) • Subwoofer Level Control • Sub/Sat Phase Alignment (0° to 180°) • Bass Contour Input Facilities: • Line-level Inputs Next-Generation Mineral-Filled Co-Polymer Polypropylene Cone with RCR™ Resonance Control Ribs. Engineered for very high power and very low levels of distortion. Free from unwanted resonances, with high stiffness and low mass for instantaneous start and stop response. 76-mm (3 in) 8-Layer High-Temperature Bifilar Aluminum Voice Coil. A rigid, lightweight design in an oversize multiple-layer configuration for greater stability and support during extended cone travel. Ultra-Class-D™ Switching Amplifier. Over 90% efficiency in an optimized, high-current, discrete-output design with advanced servo controller. Provides output of * DIN 45 500. Indicates -3 dB in a typical listening room. Overview
